What is the Alexander Technique?The Alexander Technique is a very practical and effective method of self-development, a learning procedure in which we reshape our body and mind.
The creator of the technique, Frederick Matthias Alexander (1869-1955), discovered that the use of our self (i.e. the way we move, speak, etc.) and our functioning (i.e. the quality of our existing and activities) are closely connected. In other words, the way we use our self affects our functioning and in the end it also affects the quality of our existence. This is why the Alexander Technique is also often called the “art of being”.
Through the Alexander Technique our movement becomes easier, freer and more flexible, our coordination and balance become refined and perfected.
